Saturday 13 July is a day of reckoning for Redimed Client Liaison Officer Alasdair Mackay when his beloved Perth Glory take on English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United at Optus Stadium.
After a successful domestic campaign and narrowly missing out on the Hyundai A-League Grand Final in May, Perth Glory are out to prove themselves against one of the world’s most recognisable – and feared – soccer teams, Manchester United.
Mr Mackay has been a member and one-eyed supporter of the Glory since the team’s inception in 1995, thanks in large to his Scottish father’s love of the world game. Mr Mackay is a passionate fan of the sport, travelling to World Cup’s in France and South Africa, but can’t believe Perth is finally attracting world class talent to the Australia.
“We’re so lucky to now have a world class stadium in Perth. The venue is changing the way we engage with the international sporting calendar. Perth residents are now privy to viewing some of the best sporting teams from around the globe, right in our very own city,” Mr Mackay said.
“Manchester United is arguably the biggest team in the world and having them here our city can only be a good thing for the local game. I can’t wait.”
Manchester United arrive in Perth for two huge pre-season matches at the Optus Stadium, playing Perth Glory on Saturday 13 July and long-time rivals, Leeds United, on Wednesday 17 July.
Redimed is a proud partner of Optus Stadium.
